OUTBACK NAVIGATION INFORMATION SYSTEM
The Outback Navigation Information System (ONIS) uses the OziExplorer Waypoint functionality.
Waypoints can be loaded or unloaded using the menu buttons on page 2 or the "User Waypoint Tool".
Waypoints can be edited, created or deleted using "User Waypoint Tool".
The user in "Owner Mode" has the ability to import and/or export Waypoints for deployment to the ONIS fleet.
All user created ONIS Waypoints are converted to iGO POI when the iGO app is started.
The ONIS tools are easy to understand and use, however Waypoint management in general can be complex and we recommend some training in this area to ensure a robust implementation.
Note: The maximum Waypoints that can be loaded is limited to 100,000
Waypoints can be easily loaded or unloaded.
The Waypoint list page allows the user to view approximately 20 of the nearest Waypoints.
The nearest Waypoint will be at the top of the screen.
The information includes distance to the Waypoint, bearing and name.
The Waypoint legend page provides the user with a graphical and description of the Waypoints used in the ONIS.
Users can access the Waypoint tools from the SYSTEM MENU.
Users can load, edit and delete Waypoints using the Menu Tool.
The user can edit the name and location, and select a colors from the menu options.
The location can be edited by selecting on the Latitude, Longitude or the Geohash fields.
The MRGS (Military Grid Reference System) will be calculated and displayed from the selected coordinates or Geohash.
Whenever a Waypoint is created, the ONIS will create a default "point to point" route from the current location to the new Waypoint - Refer the the route information section for more detail.
NOTE:
User Mode can also perform all Waypoint tasks, but the Owner Waypoints will be loaded at the next OziExplorer App start.
Users can easily add a temporary Waypoint at any position on the map.
1. Turn off the GPS receiver (top left).
2. Drag the map to the desired location so that the center "Cross Hair Circle" is on the desired location.

The ONIS system will then load and check for duplicate Waypoints.
